About this video

Meet the characters

THE FOX · लोमड़ी

Hungry and determined. She tries hard, but cannot get what she wants.

THE GRAPES · अंगूर

Plump and juicy, but hanging too high to reach.

The story in English

A fox is walking through a garden on a hot day when she sees a bunch of ripe grapes hanging from a vine, high above her head. Her mouth waters.

She jumps, but she cannot reach them. She jumps again, higher, and still falls short. She tries again and again until she is tired.

At last she gives up. The grapes are still too high.

As she walks away, she says, “I am sure those grapes are sour anyway!”

The fox could not have the grapes, so she decided they were not worth having. It is easier to blame the grapes than to say, “I could not reach them.”

कहानी का सार

एक लोमड़ी ने ऊँचे अंगूर देखे।

उसने उन्हें पाने की बहुत कोशिश की, लेकिन अंगूर तक पहुँच नहीं पाई।
